The Hobart Center for Foodservice Sustainability is looking for the best-executed foodservice sustainability program of the year.
The HCFS, a nonprofit forum supporting the foodservice industry's drive for sustainable equipment and design, is accepting applications from individuals or organizations for its annual $5,000 sustainability grant.
Applicants can enter by submitting a case study explaining how their program addresses sustainability challenges, such as reducing energy/water use or implementing programs such as Farm-to-Fork. Applications must include a financial analysis of the sustainability program. Descriptions of specific foodservice equipment used, including Energy Star qualified equipment, are encouraged.
Last year’s winner, Georgia Tech Dining Services (Sodexo), was recognized for its comprehensive, cost-neutral approach to foodservice sustainability.
Applications must be received by 5 p.m. ET on Jan. 31, 2012. Learn more about the grant and download the official application.
