ENERGY-SIPPING ICE MACHINE
Lots of ice for not much energy. That’s the story with Hoshizaki’s new energy-efficient Slim-Line Modular Crescent Cuber. The machine turns out more than 350 lbs./day of eye-catching crescent-shaped cubes. You get more ice made with less energy, thanks to the unit’s CycleSaver feature that cycles only half as often as comparable ice machines. The EverCheck control board aids on the maintenance front by sounding a warning when the machine needs service. Finally, this icemaker is Hoshizaki’s first to pass the stringent California Energy Commission requirements, which take effect in 2008.

SERIOUS PIGGYBACK CONDENSING MADE EASY
With utility prices going nowhere but up, you need every bit of efficiency you can get your hands on. Kolpak’s new Multi-Pak-1 remote condenser has been designed to get you that edge. The unit boasts 51% more condenser surface than comparable units for better heat transfer, and a larger fan motor and blades for better airflow. Sized to operate at up to 120[deg]F ambient, the unit runs a single condenser with up to three compressors. Each compressor gets its own circuit breaker so if one has a problem, the others keep running.

DRAIN RIGHT IN YOUR PANS
These perforated colanders insert into Camwear 1/6-, 1/3- and 1/2-size polycarbonate food storage pans to safely drain liquids and juices from foods. You can thaw seafood on ice and safely capture meat and poultry juices to avoid cross-contamination. Drain sliced tomatoes, pickles, lettuce and other cut fruit and vegetables for safe, clean storage. Or use the colander to wash produce whole and then just slip it into the pan to drain for improved food quality. Later, pull the colander insert out and toss the liquid. Camwear flat covers, covers with handles, and notched covers all fit on the colander-equipped pans. They’re dishwasher safe and able to withstand storage temps from -40°F to 210°F. NSF listed.
