Dixie Cream Plans 40 Units For Saudi Arabia

Busy times in the Middle East, and busy times at Beautiful Brands Int’l. Just months after the Tulsa, Okla., company announced plans for 100 Dixie Cream Donut Co. units in the region—including stores in Iraq—BBI says it will open at least 40 stores in Saudi Arabia. The agreement with Khalid Al-Sudairy to franchise and open units there marks the first Dixie Cream openings in Saudi Arabia.

The recently signed agreement includes freestanding Dixie Cream outlets as well as stores designed for malls and shopping centers. The first unit is scheduled to open in September. Founded in 1929, Dixie Cream Donuts was bought by Daylight Donut Flour Co. in 2005, which joined with Beautiful Brands four years later to franchise and market the brand worldwide. It’s one of 11 concepts marketed and developed by BBI.
