FEDA HOLDS CONVENTION, HONORS KENT MOTES WITH TOP AWARD

Kent Motes, founder of AutoQuotes Inc., has received the President’s Dealer-based Distribution Award from the Foodservice Equipment Distributors Association.

Outgoing FEDA Pres. Kimberley Gill Rimsza of TriMark Gill Marketing, Phoenix, presented the award at the kickoff of FEDA’s 2011 Annual Convention last week. The four-day meeting, held at the J.W. Marriott Desert Ridge in Phoenix March 30 to April 3, included seminars and dealer roundtables on everything from the U.S. economic outlook to asset protection, sales intelligence and partnering for better profitability. A legislative alert session on the Interior Design Protection Council’s efforts to fight state legislation was provided by the group’s head, Patti Morrow. The meeting was chaired by Brad Pierce of Restaurant Equipment World, Orlando, Fla. Mason Greene of Hotel & Restaurant Supply, Jackson, Miss., was assistant chair.

The convention culminated in the passing of the presidential reins to Stephen McGarry, president of Paramount Restaurant Supply in Warren, R.I.
