MCGARRY RETIRES FROM FEDA PRESIDENCY, HANSON TO TAKE REINS

Stephen McGarry, who took the reins as president of the Foodservice Equipment Distributors Association in late March, will retire as president of Paramount Restaurant Supply Corp., Warren, R.I., June 1 and will step down from his FEDA post on the same date. Until then, McGarry will continue as an active member of the FEDA executive committee. The committee recently met and voted to ask FEDA past-president Jim Hanson to fill the FEDA presidency until elections are held in March 2012. Hanson, president of Best Restaurant Equipment & Design, Columbus, Ohio, accepted the post. “Jim was very gracious to step up; he’s a great volunteer,” FEDA Exec. V.P. Ray Herrick told FER Fortnightly.

Next March, all current officers will move up one position and FEDA V.P. Brad Wasserstrom of The Wasserstrom Co., Columbus, Ohio, will assume the FEDA presidency. The association will then continue its two-year officer rotation cycle in even years.
