In Memoriam: Chris Berghoff

Chris Berghoff, the founder and CEO of Control Products, died of cancer April 7; he was 58.

Control Products is a leading provider of electronic controls to the foodservice equipment industry and other markets. Berghoff founded the Chanhassen, Minn., company in 1985 after a decade at Honeywell.

Berghoff was an active member of the North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers. He sat on the board of directors from 2004-09 and served on NAFEM’s annual meeting and management committee. He chaired the `03 meeting in Palm Springs. Berghoff also served on the Trade Show Advisory Council for four years, and on the finance committee for two years.

He also taught in the MBA programs at the University of Minnesota and the University of St. Thomas. Survivors include his wife, Laura; and three children. A memorial service was held April 13. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be sent to the Lungevity Foundation.”””
