IN MEMORIAM: CHARLES FADEL

Charles “Chuck” Fadel, retired CEO of Fadels Inc. Foodservice, Equipment and Supplies, Charlotte, N.C., passed away May 18. He was 86.

After serving in the Marines in World War II in the Pacific Theater, Fadel joined his mother and brothers, Ted and Sam, in the restaurant business. They operated Chuck’s Lunch, Fadels Grill, Biltmore Dairy Bar and Three Brother’s Tavern. In 1962, they founded their family dealership in Charlotte. His son, Shaheen (Shea),  is president of the company.

Fadel was a Mason for 63 years, and a Shriner for 61 years. In addition to his son, Fadel is survived by his wife of 54 years, Alene; two daughters; and six grandchildren.

Services have been held.
