LEGACY ACQUIRES WAREWASHING PIONEER BLAKESLEE

The Legacy Cos., the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., manufacturer, exporter and importer of foodservice equipment, retail appliances and kitchen utensils, has acquired Blakeslee, the Chicago-based commercial warewashing and preparation equipment manufacturer. Blakeslee was founded in 1880. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Since their founding, Blakeslee has become a leader in the commercial dishwashing and preparation equipment industry in the U.S and around the world, which complements our acquisition approach to developing and growing these excellent U.S. companies by expanding market share and product mix,” said Neal Asbury, Legacy’s CEO. “Blakeslee’s long legacy says a lot about the pride in the quality of the equipment it sells to foodservice operators,” he added.

The Legacy Cos. has four product lines, offering everything from refrigeration to blenders to ice cream scoops: General Slicing, Maxximum, Omega Products and Zeroll Co., and exports to more than 100 countries. The group also includes Greenfield World Trade.
