NAFED AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS

The National Association of Food Equipment Dealers has announced the recipients of its 2011 Educational Scholarships. Winner Brian Collins is the son of Clifford Collins, sales rep at member dealer Factory Direct Food Service, Richmond, Va. Brandon Harney, son of Tim Harney, procurement manager at Tulsa, Okla., member company Curtis Restaurant Supply, is the runner-up.

The NAFED scholarship is awarded to the children of NAFED dealer employees, and presents $7,500 to the winner and $2,500 to the runner up. (Principals and their families are not eligible.) Established in 1999, it is administered by an outside party to ensure impartiality.

NAFED hosts a members meeting Nov. 17-18 in Las Vegas. The group is based in Florence, S.C.
