KOOL STAR MOVES PLANT BACK TO U.S.

Kool Star is relocating its panel manufacturing from Nogales, Mexico to New Albany, Miss. Shifting the work stateside provides centrally located manufacturing and distribution, reducing shipping lead-times and costs while servicing the entire North America marketplace. In addition, the company said the move will allow it to expand and offer a complete line of walk-in panels and self-contained and rack refrigeration system lines, and add commercial refrigerated cabinets to its product catalog. All of these products are designed and produced by Kool Star’s parent, Standex Refrigeration Solutions Group. Kool Star is headquartered in Long Beach, Calif.

Paula Donohoo, Kool Star’s v.p.-sales and marketing, stated, “I am very excited with the direction of the "revitalized" Kool Star brand. The expanded offerings will complement our specification line. These changes put the "New Kool Star" into a very positive position in the market place.”

The Standex Food Service Equipment Group also includes American Foodservice, APW Wyott, Bakers Pride, BKI, Tri-Star, Federal Industries, Master-Bilt, Nor-Lake Inc. and Procon.
