Critical Industry Issues And Processes Get Coverage At MUFES 2012

Better make your reservations for the sixth biennial Multiunit Foodservice Equipment Symposium, Jan. 28-30. The meeting, created and run by Foodservice Equipment Reports magazine, is attended by some of the industry’s top multiunit chain specifiers and industry experts. The upcoming MUFES 2012 at the Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas, is no exception. It will include a stellar group of speakers and panelists addressing critical industry issues.

MUFES 2012’s equipment and supplies-oriented educational programs and breakout discussions include a session led by the Food Service Technology Center/Fisher-Nickel’s Richard Young. He’ll be joined by a representative from Brinker Int’l. discussing standards, sourcing and project implementation for systemwide LED lighting retrofits. The panel session on facility modeling for LEED standards will include David Zabrowski from the FSTC, a representative from Yum! Brands discussing field data and sub-metering, as well as Nick Shaffer from the U.S. Green Building Council, and architectural facilities sustainability consultant Vern Smith.

The packed agenda also includes a number of other high-end technical seminars, covering energy- and water-saving technologies, filtration issues, sustainability practices, and purchasing issues. Other highlights include a close look at the problems and opportunities in the global supply chain, especially in this era of quick-turn menu rollouts.

The meeting runs a full day on Jan. 29 and concludes at 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 30. Pre-meeting events, a golf outing and wine tour, occur Jan. 28.
