FEDA ANNOUNCES UID SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

Eighteen foodservice industry professionals have been named scholarship recipients by the Foodservice Equipment Distributors Association’s Educational Foundation. The scholarships are for the 2012 University of Industrial Distribution Program, March 5-8, 2012 at Indiana University/Purdue University.

The four-day UID program provides a comprehensive training ground for dealer/distributor middle management. The program, which marks its 19th year in 2012, has been hailed as outstanding by previously FEDA attendees.

All applications from foodservice equipment distributor employees included a recommendation letter from their company’s president/owner, and were reviewed by trustees of FEDA’s Education Foundation.

The 18 scholarship winners include multiple recipients from two multi-branch dealerships with personnel eager to boost their professional credentials. The winners are:

  • Brian Knoll, staff accountant, Best Restaurant Equipment & Design (Columbus, Ohio)
  • Laura Bedilion, category manager, Central Restaurant Products (Indianapolis)
  • Joshua Folan, assistant manager, Mission Restaurant Supply (San Antonio)
  • Mikal Blair, manager-inside sales & customer service, Rapids Wholesale Equipment (Marion, Iowa)
  • Brian Schweppe, store supervisor/web marketing administrator, Schweppe & Sons (Lombard, Ill.)
  • Doug Metzner, regional sales manager, Trimark SS Kemp (Cleveland)

Seven Texas-based employees of San Antonio’s Ace Mart Restaurant Supply:

  • David Bayle, store manager (Fort Worth branch)
  • David Dethy, purchasing manager (San Antonio)
  • Lupe Falcon, senior sales (Garland)
  • John Harper, regional manager (Arlington)
  • Traci Maricle, customer relations manager (San Antonio)
  • Christopher Rodriquez, sales associate/MOD mentor (Arlington)
  • Eddie Sigh, store manager (San Antonio)

Five employees of Columbus, Ohio-based The Wasserstrom Co. received scholarships:

  • Tim Clark, account manager-foodservice group
  • Kevin Dawson Sr., regional account manager
  • Dale Edman, v.p., e-commerce
  • Marc Sable, equipment sales manager
  • Jill Welsh, account manager
