Saladworks Plans 20 New U.S. Stores And First Overseas Unit in 2012

It started in Philadelphia 25 years ago—fresh made-to-order salads. Now with 100 locations in 12 states, Saladworks is going big. The chain has franchise agreements signed for five new U.S. markets, including Louisiana, South Carolina, Texas, Washington State and Washington, D.C., and is on track to open more than 20 new locations in 2012.

It’s jumping, carefully, into international waters as well. An agreement with franchisee Amos Lee outlines a 15-store development plan in Singapore. The premiere unit will open next year, followed by two more stores in 2013.

Singapore was strategically chosen as the first of several international endeavors. Also on the docket are expansion plans for the Middle East and United Kingdom.
