Alliance Acquires Schweppe

Two Chicago-area dealers have merged. Alliance Paper & Food Service, Franklin Park, Ill., has acquired Schweppe Kitchen Equipment & Supply, based in Lombard, Ill.

“The two companies clearly share the same operating philosophy,” said Schweppe Pres. Jeff Schweppe. “We are very excited to be able to offer our customers an even broader selection of products and expanded delivery capabilities.”  The Schweppe family will continue to manage the 80-year-old business, which includes a 40,000 sq.-ft. retail store. The only noticeable change will be the Alliance name on delivery trucks.

Alliance, founded in 1954, is privately owned and headed by Pres. and CEO Brad Flynn. In addition to its suburban headquarters and distribution center, Alliance maintains a cash-and-carry store in downtown Chicago.
