NACUFS Conference Gets High Marks, Honors Operations

The National Association of College & University Food Services focused on “Revolutionary Thinking” at its 2012 National Conference in Boston last week. The July 11-14 meeting welcomed more than 900 individuals representing 239 colleges and universities, as well as more than 300 industry representatives.

Two dozen operations and individuals were honored with awards:

  • Theodore W. Minah Distinguished Service Award: Russ Meyer, University of Nevada, Reno
  • David R. Prentkowski Distinguished Lifetime Member Award: H. Michael Rice, Michigan State University
  • Richard Lichtenfelt Award: Nancy Lane, Hubert Company; Timothy Dietzler, Villanova University
  • Daryl Van Hook Industry Award: Mona Milius, Bakergroup
  • Sustainability Awards Grand Prize: University of Massachusetts-Amherst
  • Loyal E. Horton Dining Award Grand Prizes:
  • Residential Dining Concepts: University of Georgia
  • Residential Dining, Special Event: Brigham Young University-Hawaii
  • Retail Sales, Single Concept: College of the Holy Cross
  • Retail Sales, Multiple Concepts/Marketplace: Brock University
  • Catering, Special Event: University of Michigan
  • Catering, Online Menu: Virginia Tech
