FER Names Dealer Award Winners

Bargreen Ellingson, Tacoma, Wash., and Mobile Fixture, Mobile, Ala., have been named winners of Foodservice Equipment Reports’ first Management Excellence Awards in the dealer category. Bargreen receives the award for dealers with more than $40 million in sales: Mobile Fixture takes home the award for dealers with sales less than $40 million.

The award winners were selected with the help of nine manufacturer judges who made the selections from a list of more than 20 nominees using a detailed set of criteria specific to distributors of foodservice equipment and supplies.

FER also has named, with the assistance of the board of directors of the Foodservice Equipment Distributors Association, winners of two additional awards. Jim Hanson, who has served two terms as president of the group, will receive FER’s Industry Service Award. The award honors individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the foodservice equipment and supplies industry. Hanson is president of Best Equipment, Columbus, Ohio.

Brad Pierce, president of Restaurant Equipment World, Orlando, Fla., has been named winner of the magazine’s Young Lion Award, which recognizes individuals under the age of 40 who have made significant contributions to the industry. Pierce also is currently v.p. of FEDA.

All the dealer award winners, along with winners in operator, consultant, manufacturers’ rep and service agent categories, will be feted at an awards dinner and program Feb. 8, 2013, at the Peabody Hotel in Orlando, Fla. The event will take place Friday night during The NAFEM Show.
