FEDA Sets Agenda For 80th Anniversary Convention

The Foodservice Equipment Distributors Association has put together a full lineup of speakers and programs for its 80th annual convention next year.

FEDA members will convene April 3-7, 2013 at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa in San Antonio, Texas, under the banner of “Vision and Courage to Create Your Own Profitable Future.”

Convention chair Joe Schmitt of Rapids Wholesale Equipment and assistant chair Jack Lewis of Mission Restaurant Supply have put together a roster of speakers ranging from industry legends to distribution experts to a Medal of Honor winner.

Presentations include a keynote address on positive thinking and abundance by Peter Diamandis, CEO of the X PRIZE Foundation, a non-profit focused on designing and launching large incentive prizes to drive radical breakthroughs for the benefit of humanity.

Closing speaker Sal Giunta, a Medal of Honor winner for valor in Afghanistan’s Korengal Valley, will speak about the importance of teamwork, service before self, and leadership in the face of overwhelming circumstances

In between these events, attendees can attend a number of presentations as well as an all-industry trends think-tank and a dozen Best Practices dealer roundtable discussions. Both forums provide attendees the opportunity to exchange ideas with and gain insight from their peers. Roundtable topics include e-commerce sales, project management and job costing, sales force automation and showroom/internet fraud.

Topping it off, the 2013 Member Breakfast will feature a panel discussion with industry veterans Paul Ellingson, Bargreen-Ellingson; Tom Schrack Sr., Hockenbergs; and David J. Stafford, Stafford-Smith.

Registration materials will be mailed in early December.
