KEEP WINE FRESHER LONGER

This keg wine dispenser has two dedicated temperature zones: one for white wines (45°F) and one for red wines (55°F). Keg wine offers sustainable packaging, and with no corkage or oxidation, keg wine stays fresher longer. An inert gas pumps the wine through the tap and protects the wine from spoiling. The unit is able to store and/or serve up to 4, 20-l. wine kegs (each equivalent to 26 wine bottles).

NO WASTE, ONE CUP AT A TIME

The CGC is the only commercial brewer that brews a single cup of American-style, drip, filtered coffee, one cup at a time. The 4 1/3-in. touchscreen allows programming and instruction, as well as self-diagnostics, a one-touch setting for brew recipes and a customizable access code. A patent- pending mineral-deposit warning feature alerts the operator to excessive lime/scale on a probe. Customize the energy-saving mode to your operation’s needs.

App of the Month

Scott Soiseth, director of child nutrition at California’s Turlock Unified School District, needed some innovative revenue generators to supplement foodservice in his district’s two high schools. “We decided on a FreshMex burrito and taco bar and a FreshDeli bar, but with a Chipotle approach, where our servers build the students’ orders right in front of them,” Soiseth says. He needed these concepts to look upscale, to be durable, to accommodate the electrical he could supply and importantly, to fit through 36-in.-wide doors into spare spaces, including a small, empty classroom, an unused teacher’s lounge and a old snack bar area. His total budget for the four, speed-scratch concepts was $50K to $70K to cover all equipment and construction. “I saw an ad for Multiteria and got in touch with them,” he says. Over the phone Multiteria worked with Soiseth to map out the counters’ sizes, the electrical, the finishes of Corian, stainless and wood, the lighting, food shields, every detail. “We even worked it so the tray slides fold down in order to fit the counters through those doors.” Multiteria put him in touch with an air-curtain grab-and-go-case maker and worked with that manufacturer to match the counter finishes so that each concept, comprised of the service counter, display case and cashier desk, looks cohesive and high end. “What I really loved about this process is that I was able to get customized concepts, but didn’t have to over-buy.” Department revenues and participation increased about 300% and plans are in the works to add more custom counters in the districts middle schools. www.multiteriausa.com
