Heritage Acquires Toronto-Based R.G. Henderson

Heritage Food Service Group has acquired Toronto-based R.G. Henderson & Sons Ltd., one of Canada’s largest foodservice equipment repair and OEM parts distributors. Heritage, based in Fort Wayne, Ind., is the foodservice equipment industry’s largest independent distributor of OEM service and replacement parts in North America. Henderson, founded in 1986, is the biggest firm of its kind in the Ontario region.

“This acquisition will position Heritage to accelerate its expansion into the Canadian market,” Heritage CEO John McDonough said. “We are very pleased to be partnering with the most respected aftermarket service and OEM parts provider in the Canadian space. The clear opportunity is to build upon the respective strengths of both businesses to create a new whole in Canada that is greater than the sum of its individual parts.”

“We see great opportunities ahead for the new business,” Rick Blum, president/CEO of Henderson, said. “A foundational excellence in aftermarket service will be complemented by a tremendous opportunity, in partnership with Heritage, to expand our combined OEM parts distribution network in Canada.”
