Landry’s Buys Mastro’s, Upscale Steak And Seafood Chain

Landry’s Inc. has acquired Mastro’s Restaurants LLC, a high-end steak and seafood chain. The 10-unit chain, based in Woodland Hills, Calif., includes two main concepts: Mastro’s Steakhouse and Mastro’s Ocean Club.

Mastro’s has five sites in California, three in Arizona, one each in Chicago and Las Vegas. The upscale Mastro’s Ocean Club has units in Las Vegas, Newport Beach, Calif., and Scottsdale, Ariz. Landry’s brand portfolio also includes McCormick &Schmick’s, Saltgrass Steakhouse, Landry’s Seafood House, Morton’s The Steakhouse, Vic & Anthony’s, and three Golden Nugget Hotel & Casinos.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Mark Levy, Mastro’s chairman and CEO, has joined Houston-based Landry’s and will run Mastro’s day-to-day operations.
