NRAEF Seeking Nominations For Community Service Awards

It’s payback time for good deeds and industriousness. Go ahead and nominate a hardworking operator for the Restaurant Neighbor and Faces of Diversity awards, presented by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation.

Any restaurant or foodservice company is eligible for the awards, which recognize outstanding societal contributions by restaurateurs. The Restaurant Neighbor Award recognizes restaurants that have succeeded in community philanthropy, such as supporting programs for neighborhood improvements or promoting healthy-eating efforts.

The Faces of Diversity Award honors those who have overcome societal obstacles to excel in the restaurant or foodservice industry and achieved the “American Dream.” Three nominees will be given the award nationally.

National winners receive a $5,000 donation for their favorite charity or community project, along with a trip to Washington, D.C., to receive the award next April. Beginning this year, state restaurant associations with winners also will receive a $5,000 matching grant in the name of the winning restaurant.

Nominating forms can be found at nraef.org/awards. The nomination deadline is Nov. 18.
