In Memoriam: Lew Burns

Lewis Burns, whose career with Dover Corp. spanned more than 40 years, died Nov. 17. He was 75. Burns joined the Downers Grove, Ill., company as a staff accountant and served as president and CEO of Dover Industries. He retired in 2003 but continued to serve as a director of Dover Industries for two more years. Dover’s divisions include Unified Brands, comprising A la Cart, Avtec, Groen, Power Soak and Randell.

Burns is survived by three children and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wyona, and their daughter, Molly. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either the Molly D. Burns Foundation for Children at mdbf4kids.org or the Salvation Army in Elgin, Ill.
