NRA Hosts Health Care, Commodities Webinars This Month

The National Restaurant Association has slated two webinars in January for its members. On Thursday, Jan. 17, the association will host “Health Care Law: Next Steps for Restaurateurs.”

Operators large and small will feel the effects of the 2010 Affordable Care Act. The NRA’s Michelle Neblett, director of labor and workforce policy, will give an overview of the law and how it affects the foodservice industry and will preview the next steps for employers to prepare for impending changes. The program will provide information on the latest regulations for employers, plus compliance deadlines.

Two weeks later, on Jan. 31, the NRA will host a webinar on “2012 Election Impact on Ag Policy and Commodities.”

An expert panel will take a look at what last November’s election means for the restaurant and foodservice industry, specifically when it comes to issues regarding agricultural policy and commodities. The NRA’s Scott DeFife, Cargill’s Mike Mullins and Market Vision’s John Barone will focus on how the election impacts operators and supply chain stakeholders and will highlight issues the new Congress could tackle in 2013.

Both webinars begin at 2 p.m. EST.
