NRA Readies For 27th Annual Public Affairs Conference In April

The National Restaurant Association’s 2013 Public Affairs Conference is set for April 17-18 in Washington, D.C.

This year’s theme, “Carry the Message—America Works Here,” is part of the NRA’s ongoing campaign to communicate to opinion leaders and government agencies the foodservice industry’s story as a leading job creator. The restaurant industry employs more than 13 million individuals, making it the nation’s second-largest private-sector employer and summing up the “America Works Here” slogan.

As in past years, the association anticipates 500 operators from across the country will convene in the capital. During Capitol Hill meetings, attendees will meet with members of Congress and staff and discuss the need for pro-growth policies, including tax and immigration reforms, as well as reforms to the 2010 healthcare law. The conference agenda also includes the Gala Restaurant Industry Awards Program honoring the winners of the 2013 Faces of Diversity and Restaurant Neighbor awards.

Registration is $145 for NRA members through March 15, and $165 after that. Non-members pay $250.
