NRA Launches Pizzeria Industry Council

Menu labeling, healthcare regulations and food costs are among the top issues that the National Restaurant Association’s newly launched Pizzeria Industry Council will bring to the discussion table. The group is modeled after the association’s Fast Casual Industry Council, established in 2009. Both councils address priority issues for their specific industry segments and underscore the need for collaboration to reach common goals.

Marla Topliff, CEO of Chicago-based Rosati’s Pizza, has been named chair of the Pizzeria Industry Council’s steering committee; the 17 founding members represent independent and chain pizza operators from around the country.

Earlier this month, council members joined NRA staff at a White House meeting to discuss the need for flexibility to be considered in upcoming menu-labeling regulations.
