Edward Don Opens Doors On New Corporate Offices

Edward Don & Co. has new digs. The nation’s largest E&S distributor has moved its national headquarters and distribution center to a new 362,500-sq.-ft. facility in Woodridge, Ill. The move from the former location in North Riverside, Ill., was completed in November.

The move continues Don’s continuing modernization of its facilities. Since 2003, the 92-year-old firm has upgraded its six distribution centers in or near Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. The new Woodridge facility expands the total area of its warehouse network to1.1 million sq.ft.

“The new location and the operational efficiencies of the new building put us in a great position to continue to enhance the service we provide to our customers,” said Pres./CEO Steve Don. “The expanded warehouse space and 38 external dock doors provide us plenty of room to grow.”

A state-of-the-art order processing system is just one high-tech upgrade that will make the company’s operation more efficient and optimize customer-service levels, according to Mark Zabloudil, v.p.-operations. “The space, the growth, and the modernization of our facility were driving factors in our decision to relocate.”

Don was ranked No.1 in FER’s 2012 Top Dealer report, with more than $594 million in 2011 sales.
