CFESA Adds New Directors, Launches 50th Anniversary Celebration

It’s a big year for service agents in the foodservice equipment industry. The Commercial Food Equipment Service Association is celebrating a half-century since it was incorporated in 1963 by founders and charter members.

CFESA started celebrating its 50^th anniversary in February at its Spring Conference in Orlando, Fla., just prior to NAFEM ’13. Keynote speaker and four-time Super Bowl champion Rocky Bleier kicked off the three-day conference.

During the meeting, the Greensboro, N.C.-based association also named a trio of foodservice professionals to its board of directors. New CFESA board members are:

• Joe Birchhill, business development manager, Ecolab Equipment Care (GCS Service), St. Paul, Minn.
• Steve Sliter, president, Commercial Parts & Service, Cincinnati, Ohio.
• Wells Whaley, president/CEO, Whaley Foodservice, Lexington, S.C.

The yearlong celebration continues with a marketing campaign and a redesigned website. Still in the works is a possible national training center for CFESA member companies, their employees and manufacturers. CFESA will kick off its next 50 years at its fall conference in New Orleans, Oct. 7-9.
