CFESA Adds New Directors, Launches 50th Anniversary Celebration
It’s a big year for service agents in the foodservice equipment industry. The Commercial Food Equipment Service Association is celebrating a half-century since it was incorporated in 1963 by founders and charter members.
CFESA started celebrating its 50th anniversary in February at its Spring Conference in Orlando, Fla., just prior to NAFEM ’13. Keynote speaker and four-time Super Bowl champion Rocky Bleier kicked off the three-day conference.
During the meeting, the Greensboro, N.C.-based association also named a trio of foodservice professionals to its board of directors. New CFESA board members are:
- Joe Birchhill, business development manager, Ecolab Equipment Care (GCS Service), St. Paul, Minn.
- Steve Sliter, president, Commercial Parts & Service, Cincinnati, Ohio.
- Wells Whaley, president/CEO, Whaley Foodservice, Lexington, S.C.
The yearlong celebration continues with a marketing campaign and a redesigned website. Still in the works is a possible national training center for CFESA member companies, their employees and manufacturers. CFESA will kick off its next 50 years at its fall conference in New Orleans, Oct. 7-9.
