Sam Tell Cos. Goes National, Acquires Assets Of Paramount Restaurant Supply

Sam Tell & Son has acquired the business assets of Paramount Restaurant Supply Corp. The acquisition, announced Nov. 18, was made by Warren Acquisition LLC, an affiliate of the dealer.

Paramount, which has offices in Phoenix, New York and Warren, R.I., is a national supplier of foodservice equipment and supplies. The firm, helmed by COO Brian Barer, will continue operating under its current name, with the same staff in the same locations.

“We are very excited to welcome the Paramount team to our family of companies, and will look to work together to provide our new customer base with the level of service that Sam Tell customers are accustomed to, said Marc Tell, president of the Farmingdale, N.Y., company. “We are eager to add the product and service offerings currently provided by Paramount to our existing customer base. It’s a `win-win’ for all.”

The 57-year-old Sam Tell & Son reported sales of $41.3 million in 2012, and ranked 22nd on FER’s 2013 Top Dealers. Paramount, founded more than 70 years ago, ranked 20th with sales of $45.7 million.

“Paramount has long been associated with reliability in both product knowledge and logistical innovation. We are looking forward to learning from them and with them as we grow,” Tell said. “This acquisition expands our reach in the Northeast and the West and fits perfectly within our long term goals.”

Sam Tell & Son is a major player in the huge New York market; its sees a significant volume from its national sales but, with this acquisition, it plans to further leverage its ability to service its chain customers. “Sam Tell will continue to seek partnerships and other strategic acquisitions that fit our model. Over the years, we have made seven acquisitions, and each provided our customer base with an increased level of service. We look forward to a continuation of this approach” said Daniel Saltzman, COO of Sam Tell.
