Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, already one of the nation’s fastest-growing chains, just got a boost to its nationwide expansion plans. The Dallas chain has struck a 100-store development deal in Southern California, the largest development deal in its history.
Two former KFC franchisees, Kevin Roche and Bryan Roche, along with partner Phil Fontes, head up the development group that plans to add 100 new locations to Dickey’s existing 372 locations across the country. The 10-year multiunit deal will add 100 new Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants in Fresno, greater Los Angeles and the central coastal market areas. The Roches already own locations in Hanford, Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana and Santa Maria and are currently in the construction phase on a site in Seaside. There are 41 Dickey’s outlets already operating across California. The 72-year-old chain has a footprint in 43 states.
