Hotelex Shanghai Set For Four-Day Run

Globetrotting E&S professionals who make the trek to Hotelex Shanghai, March 31-April 3, will find more than 1,500 exhibitors from around the world set up for business at the Shanghai New Int’l. Expo Centre.

The first day of the show will once again feature the Foodservice Forum, a day-long program co-sponsored and organized by Foodservice Equipment Reports; the Foodservice Consultants Society Int’l./Asia-Pacific Division; and UBM SinoExpo, the show organizers. Among the featured speakers will be Robin Ashton, publisher, and Beth Lorenzini, editor-in-chief of FER; Richard Young, director of education of the Food Service Technology Center; and Angela Liu of NPD Group’s foodservice practice in China.

Last year’s edition of the 22-year-old exhibition saw a 36% boost in attendance and a similar expansion in exhibit space, which filled 11 halls with displays. The show, the central part of Hotelex, Deco & Design, comprises 10 themed sectors, including catering equipment and supply, bakery and ice cream, tableware, textile, appliance and amenities and IT and security. More than two decades after it began, Hotelex Shanghai’s 2014 focus will center on the use of innovative elements and “green” concepts.

And in this, the Year of Horse according to the Chinese calendar, many foodservice professionals might take a leap across the country this summer for Hotelex Chengdu 2014, a new, second edition of Hotelex, in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.

Booths are now being booked for the show, Aug. 6-8 at Chengdu Century City International Convention and Exhibition Center. Hotelex Chengdu 2014 is sponsored by the China Tourist Hotel Association, UBM ASIA, and organized by UBM SinoExpo.
