Halton Inks Manufacturing Deal In Brazil

Halton Group, the Finnish maker of hoods and ventilation systems, has established a new manufacturing facility in Brazil through a joint venture agreement with São Paulo-based Refrin. The agreement between the two family-owned companies was signed earlier this month.

Refrin manufactures HVAC ductwork in a modern 60,000-sq.-ft. plant; a separate facility produces ventilation hoods and associated products.

Helsinki-based Halton operates in 29 countries, but entered the Latin American market two years ago when it initiated business in Mexico, as well as Chile, Columbia, Panama and Peru. Last year, the firm established Halton do Brasil to support its developing activity in Brazil’s foodservice, marine, oil and gas industries.

The São Paulo factory is now being finalized and first the Halton Capture Jet hoods will be delivered in July. Over time, Halton’s entire foodservice product line will be manufactured there. Brazil marks the 11th country where Halton Foodservice has a factory; it also has three plants in Europe, two in North America, one in Central America, two in Asia and one each in Australia and South Africa.
