May is a busy month for the National Restaurant Association. In addition to the show in Chicago, the NRA had a number of awards to give out. Among them were the Operator Innovations Awards, in which operators worldwide are recognized by their peers for transforming the industry through innovation and combining imagination and hard work to find new and better ways to do business.
The association’s panel of independent operator experts from across the industry has surveyed the field, and the results are in for the 2014 Operator Innovations Awards:
- Innovator of the Year: UCSF Medical Center
- Health and Nutrition: UCSF Medical Center
- Menu Development: UNC Healthcare
- Marketing: Orange County Public Schools Truck of the Month Program
- Sustainability: Delaware North
- Technology: Dickie Brennan’s Restaurants
