Market Forge Joins Blodgett In Vermont

Market Forge Industries has moved its Massachusetts operations north to a Vermont facility near its Middleby Corp. stablemate, Blodgett Oven.

The facility in Essex, Vt., will build proprietary steam equipment under the Market Forge brand. Middleby, which purchased the assets of Market Forge on Jan. 7, moved all of the production, sales and engineering from Everett, Mass., to the new Essex location; the transition should be completed this week. Blodgett will assist Market Forge in providing service and support teams.

Blodgett Pres. Gary Mick, who also oversees the Market Forge operations, said, “We are very excited to combine the technologies of two great brands. Both companies are well over 100 years old, and they exemplify American manufacturing at its best—products built by people who care about every detail.”

Market Forge was established in 1896; Blodgett was established in 1848.

The six-month transition effort was led by Dan Coolbeth, Blodgett v.p.-operations; Erica Havers, Blodgett v.p./controller; and Jeff Leckel, Market Forge president.
