NYC Issues Foodservice Operating Manual

It just got a little easier to navigate the rules, regulations and red tape of the New York restaurant scene for the city’s diverse operators. An updated version of the Restaurant Owner Manual provides user-friendly guidance to more than 24,000 operators and their largely immigrant workforces on the how-tos of operating within New York.

The New York State Restaurant Association collaborated with the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, as well key city agencies, to compile critical information and resources. The manual highlights key regulations and best practices, such as health and safety requirements, licensing rules, immigration and labor laws. The updated version also covers many recent developments in local laws, such as electronic cigarette regulations, sick-leave requirements and delivery-worker protections.

The manual can be downloaded here. “””
