Deadlines Loom Large For FEDA’s March Convention

The groundhog might be promising six more weeks of winter, but dealers planning to attend next month’s FEDA Annual Convention know they’ll enjoy a respite in the sun from this endless winter. But time is running out to register and reserve a room.

The convention is slated for March 26-30 at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa in Indian Wells, Calif., and Friday, Feb. 14, is the deadline for room reservations and convention registration.

The four-day meeting will kick off with “The Happiness Advantage: Linking Positive Brains to Performance,” presented by Shawn Achor, author of The Happiness Advantage. Achor says it’s a fallacy that working harder means you will be more successful, which leads to happiness. He says that 75% of a person’s job success is predicted not by intelligence, but by his or her optimism, social support network and the ability to manage energy and stress in a positive way.

The convention’s closing speaker is Chef Jeff Henderson, who will discuss his path “From the Streets to the Stove…The Power of Potential.” Henderson is a best-selling author and motivational speaker who, while serving a decade in prison for running a drug operation, discovered a passion for cooking and committed himself to turning his life around. Today he is the executive chef of Café Bellagio in Las Vegas.
