Tom Szafranski To Retire From ITW FEG

Tom Szafranski, a 30-year veteran of Hobart and ITW Food Equipment Group, will retire June 30 from his post as president-sales for ITW FEG North America.

In the March 24 announcement, ITW FEG Exec. V.P. Chris O’Herlihy stated: “Tom has been a highly respected leader in our business, and indeed our industry, who throughout his tenure, has contributed significantly to the success of all of the Food Equipment North America businesses. His knowledge and presence in the industry is well-known and highly respected by our channel partners, end users and competitors alike.”

“It has been an honor and privilege to have had the opportunity to represent the ITW FEG brands (Hobart, Traulsen, Baxter, Vulcan, Berkel and Wolf) over my 30-year career,” Szafranski told FER Dealer Report. “While it is sad to leave such an outstanding organization and industry, I am also very excited about moving on to the next chapter of life.”

He added, “I consider myself extremely fortunate to have been associated with so many great people and to have made so many wonderful friends….all of whom I look forward to keeping in touch with and to watching them continue successful careers and lives as well!”

Szafranski will stay on part-time with the Glenview, Ill.-based firm as an independent consultant advising on special projects. He’ll assist the FEG leadership and North American sales teams during the transition and in the future.

O’Herlihy added that ITW FEG “will shortly be conducting an appropriate selection process to find a suitable replacement for Tom in his current role, and hope to have this process completed within three months.”
