On The Move:

  • Gary Simpson has been promoted by ITW FEG to v.p.-dealer sales. He now has responsibilities for North American dealer sales for Hobart, Traulsen and Baxter, and reports to Group Pres. Lei Schlitz. Simpson joined Hobart in 1994 as a territory sales trainee. He moved up the ladder and most recently served as regional sales director. His yet-to-be-announced replacement, as well as Grimes Redd, Doug Lins and Dick Hynes, will report to Simpson.
  • Three key promotions have been made at Eaton, Ohio-based Henny Penny: Rick Cartwright has been elevated to director-product development and innovation; he previously served as director-controls engineering and now will oversee electronic engineering, project management, product development and food science. Don Kern has moved up to the post of director-engineering from his prior post as director-quality assurance and safety. He’ll focus on product quality and warranty as well as engineering, reliability, engineering services and safety. Jeff Frymier, previously director-human resources, has been tapped as director-corporate relations. He will focus on external relations, internal communication and community-development initiatives for the company.
  • Hotel & Restaurant Supply, headquartered in Meridian, Miss., has opened its newest location in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The site includes a fully stocked showroom, warehouse and office space. It is the company’s sixth location since it began operations in 1953.
  • Vivian Co., a Fenton, Mo., supplier of foodservice equipment and fixtures, added a 13,200 sq. ft. addition to its hometown facility. The 91-year-old dealer saw a 60% increase in sales over the last two years, which prompted the $800,000 expansion. Vivian provides a full spectrum of products, fixtures, fabrication and design services to restaurants, c-stores, bars, movie theatres and grocery stores across the nation.
