Boelter, Robert Gill & Co. Merge

The Boelter Cos. has acquired Orland Park, Ill.-based Robert Gill & Co., expanding the Waukesha, Wis., giant’s presence in the Chicago-area healthcare and hospital foodservice market segment. Paul, Bill and Steve Gill will join the Boelter organization.

“Robert Gill & Co. has been a strong dealer in the Chicago market for over 40 years, focused primarily on serving hospitals in the area,” stated Eric Boelter, president-Boelter Foodservice. “They are recognized for being a high-service team that is dedicated to providing the best possible value in products and support to the hospital and senior-living customer base in northern Illinois,” he added. “The Gill organization has a reputation in the industry that will reflect and reinforce Boelter’s commitment to expand its portfolio of superior services and products to this growing segment of the industry.”

Boelter Foodservice is the nation’s fifth-largest E&S dealer, reporting 2013 sales of $239 million for FER’s 2014 Top Dealers. Founded in Milwaukee in 1929, the firm offers foodservice and janitorial supplies, contract commercial and institutional foodservice equipment and food facility design in seven offices throughout the U.S.; its related business units include Boelter Beverage Group and Boelter Brands.
