Hostelco Wraps Up A Winning Week

The 17th edition of Hostelco, the International Restaurant, Hotel and Community Equipment Exhibition, took place this past week in Barcelona. The Oct. 20-23 show featured products from almost 500 companies (a quarter of them non-Spanish) from more than 30 countries, including Italy, Portugal, Germany, Turkey and the U.K.

Hostelco 2014 hosted visitors from more than 100 countries, who saw expanded business segments and activities showcasing new business opportunities as well as the latest technologies applied to hospitality and industry professionals.

For the first time, the show was held simultaneously with the Gastronomic Forum and the Bar Forum to create a sweeping international platform for the industry, encompassing everything from equipment to product preparation. In addition to networking opportunities, the show’s Hospitality Business Event featured more than 50 prominent speakers from the global fields of hospitality, catering, fitness, exports and safety.

An extensive area designed by Hostelco and the Gastronomic Forum recreated on-various restaurant models. The area brought together food, trends, creativity and the latest in equipment, machinery and appliances in an on-site reproduction of 17 different eating concepts, modeled on American food courts and inspired by street food, food trucks or thematic restaurants.
