Update Your Passport: Spring Calendar Includes Shanghai and Hamburg Shows

Two international shows loom on the horizon. Internorga 2011 is set for March 18-23, 2011 in Hamburg, Germany. The 85th annual international trade show for the hotel, catering, foodservice, bakery and confectionary trades is expected to have more than 1,100 exhibitors form more than two dozen countries. The show fills 11 exhibit halls as well as a newcomers area, where new and emerging companies can enjoy the spotlight. www.internorga.com.

One week later, it’s time for Hotelex Shanghai, more officially known as the Shanghai International Hospitality Equipment and Supplies Expo. Slated March 29-April 1, the show is celebrating its 20th anniversary with high hopes of surpassing last year’s 43,000 attendees, who visited 885 exhibitors from 24 countries. The show at Shanghai’s new international Expo Center boasts the synergy of 10 shows under one umbrella. The biggest of the shows focuses on E&S; half the exhibitors and 40% of attendees are in the equipment business. Tableware, bakery, coffee and tea and food and beverage are among the other shows in what organizers call “a one-stop purchasing platform.” More at www.hotelex.cn.
