Why You Should Be An FER Top Dealer

We sent out the forms for our fifth annual FER Top Dealers Report last week. If you don’t see the form—they can get stuck in spam filters—just click on this link, fermag.com/media-library/research.html, download the form, complete it and get it back to Christine Palmer as directed. While in that section of our website, you can also remind yourself how we present the data by looking at the Top Dealers articles from past years.

We created this annual survey five years ago to give all of you a credible way to detail your services and offerings in front our of 23,000 large multiunit operator and consultant subscribers. The results will be published in FER’s June issue. The key difference of the Top Dealers survey is we ask you to verify your revenues with a letter from a certified public accountant or other independent source. The reason for insisting on that hassle is simple: We’re putting this data in front of the largest buyers and specifiers of equipment and supplies in the world. The information must be real.

But let us also remind you of the many other benefits of participating.

• E&S dealers of any size can participate. As long as you verify, you get full listings regardless of revenues. (For now, we limit the listing to E&S dealers to keep the listing apples to apples. We’re working on a way to also list broadline and other distributors that sell E&S.)

• This survey isn’t just about size. It’s about showing all of these big buyers and specifiers what services you offer. You only get to detail your services if you verify.

• You get invites and discounts to FER events, including our biennial Industry Excellence Awards Gala (many of you were at the 2015 event last month in Anaheim, Calif.), and our annual President’s Preview E&S Market Forecast.

But let’s be clear: The real reason to participate is that by doing so, you show existing and potential customers that you are a legitimate player in E&S distribution in the U.S.

So I urge all of you, no matter your size or niche, to join the Top Dealers club (or rejoin­­—you have to verify every year, please.) We look forward to including you.
