Halton Group Acquires North Carolina-Based Air Cleaning Company

Halton Group has expanded its reach in the indoor climate solution markets. Last month, the Finnish company acquired the Sandford, N.C., air cleaning company Air Scrubbers, which specializes in commercial kitchen environments.

Air Scrubbers’ electrostatic filtration technology will be utilized as part of Halton’s solution portfolio and it will operate as part of Halton Foodservice, which the company says provided indoor climate solutions for 5,000 commercial kitchens around the world in 2014.

“As a sharply focused technology company Air Scrubbers will help us expand our international product and service offering”, says Halton Chairman Mika Halttunen. “The acquisition will, for its part, support Halton’s vision of becoming the world’s leading provider within the company’s selected segments. Our objective is to continue to grow strongly in all our strategic business areas.”

Founded in 1969, Halton presently operates in 30 countries around the world; in addition to Finland and the United States, it has production facilities in Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hungary, Malaysia, Mexico and the United Kingdom.
