Shanghai’s Hotelex 2015 Attendance Reached Nearly 100,000

Professional visitor attendance rose 18.3% at the 24th running of the Shanghai Int’l. Hotel Equipment and Supply Expo, also known as Hotelex 2015. The annual trade show, organized by the China Tourism Hotel Association and Shanghai UBM Sinoexpo, attracted 96,508 attendees to Hotelex and its concurrent shows, which cover 15 different themed sectors, including foodservice equipment and supplies, coffee and tea, hotel building, engineering, design, cleaning and furnishings. The show ran March 30-April 2 at the Shanghai New Int’l. Exhibition Center.

Exhibitors and visitors came from 130 different countries. They filled all 17 of the venue’s permanent exhibition halls and four temporary “outdoor” halls, covering a total exhibition area of 250,000 sq.m. The exhibitors represented more than 2,500 brands and businesses from more than 50 countries.

In addition to the exhibits, visitors also attended competitions and forums, including “Foodservice in the 21st Century,” once again co-sponsored by Foodservice Equipment Reports and Foodservice Consultants Society Int’l. Other forums included “Sustainability in the Hospitality Industry,” a “Design Power Tableware Art” display and a matchmaking meeting for international visitors and exhibitors. Competitions covered four different coffee contests held in association with World Coffee Events as well as others for chefs, pizza, gelato, bar and drinks, baking, hotel buffet displays and other sectors.

Hotelex 2016 is scheduled March 29-April 1 at the Shanghai New Int’l. Exhibition Center. Information on the show is available at hotelex.cn.
