New York’s Bradco Horizon Buys S.C. Dealer

Horizon Bradco of Schenectady, N.Y., has acquired Burke Food Equipment, which covers the Southeast from its base in Spartanburg, S.C.

Burke founder J.D. Burke brings complementary experience as an equipment distributor and service provider to Horizon Bradco, according to its CEO Mark Panozzo.

“J.D. Burke has built a thriving business in the Carolinas and beyond, providing equipment and service solutions to the supermarket industry. With a shared commitment to providing equipment, installation and service, we are confident that the business combination will deliver greater value to customers in the Southeast,” Panozzo said.

Founded in 1987, Horizon Bradco provides equipment and service to the supermarket, foodservice, meat processing and bakery markets. It also has offices in Massachusetts and Florida. In 2013, it merged with Bake-Rite Int’l., also in Schenectady, and now markets automation-focused bakery equipment under the Bake-Rite brand.
