In a move that expands its aftermarket service across the Canadian market, Heritage Food Service Group announced July 13 that it has acquired Choquette CKS of Montreal and Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, for an undisclosed amount.
Choquette is the largest foodservice equipment repair and genuine OEM parts distributor in the Quebec province.
“This acquisition further positions Heritage to accelerate its expansion into the Canadian market,” said John McDonough, CEO of Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Heritage.
“We are very pleased to be partnering with Jonathan Dubeau, President of Choquette, and his experienced team,” McDonough added. “In combination with our previous acquisitions of R.G. Henderson & Son Ltd. of Ontario in February 2013 and Key Food Equipment Services Ltd. of Vancouver and the Western Provinces in April 2014, we now enjoy an expansive aftermarket footprint that spans the breadth of the Canadian market.”
Choquette, founded in 1913, fields 44 service technicians from its Montreal and Quebec City locations. “Our goal is to become the aftermarket partner of choice to our OEMs and to our many service agents and end-use customers in Canada, whether local or national in their scope and aspirations,” stated Dubeau. He—like Rick Blum and Ken Beasley, presidents of RGH and KFES, respectively—will report to McDonough. Heritage distributes parts for more than 800 equipment manufacturers.
