In Memoriam: Dealer Bob Curtis

Robert (Bob) Curtis passed away July 6 at the age of 93 at his home in Eugene, Ore. He was the founder of Curtis Restaurant Equipment in Springfield, Ore.

Curtis’ career in the foodservice equipment and supplies business began in 1943, at Portland-based Greene Winkler Co. In 1963 he started Curtis Restaurant Equipment, concentrating on design as well as supplies and equipment. When he retired in 1984, he handed the reins to his sons, Mike and Dan.

In addition to his two sons, he is survived by his wife of 71 years, Eileen Jeanne Curtis; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert; and a brother, Richard.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital  or Cascade Health Solutions Pete Moore Hospice House.
