Technomic Acquired By Media Company

Winsight, the business-to-business media company, has bought Technomic, the Chicago-based research and advisory services firm. Technomic was acquired from its founder, President and CEO Ron Paul, who is leaving the company to spend time with family.

Terms of the August 31 transaction weren’t disclosed. Technomic will continue to operate under its brand name, and will serve as Winsight’s information and advisory services platform.

Technomic’s executive vice presidents, Gary Karp, Bob Goldin and Darren Tristano, remain with the company. In a joint statement, they said, “We are excited for Technomic to join Winsight in delivering critical information and analysis to the marketplace. Winsight’s growth plan over the next five years presents great opportunities for our employees and expansion opportunities for our business.”

Winsight, headquartered in Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., changed its corporate name from CSP Business Media in July. Its media portfolio includes CSP, Restaurant Business, FoodService Director and Convenience Store Products.
