Star Promotes Deacon, Yungbluth To Prominent Sales Posts

Two major appointments have been announced at St. Louis-based Star Mfg./Middleby. Lorne Deacon has been promoted to V.P.-Sales for the Star brands, comprising Star, Holman, Lang and Toastmaster. Christian Yungbluth has been promoted to V.P.-Business Development for these same brands. Both will report directly to Division President Brian Kearins.

Deacon will be responsible for domestic and international sales as well as the c-store and hospitality segments; he also will support manufacturers’ rep and buying group strategies. Deacon, who most recently served as director-brand strategy at Lang, joined Middleby in 2013 as director-sales for the Midwest and West territories. “Lorne’s industry knowledge and customer relationships have been a tremendous asset to the Star Group,” Kearins said.

Yungbluth previously served as director-sales for Star brands, where he was responsible for the Midwest and Canadian territories and developing national training, sales and marketing initiatives. In his new post, he will oversee the development and execution of sales and marketing strategy, product rationalization, pricing, customer-service operations and profit and loss management. Prior to joining Star in 2013, Yungbluth was product line manager and senior engineering manager with Vulcan/ITW FEG.

“Chris has more than a decade of experience in our industry, and he consistently delivers outstanding results,” Kearins said. “He has a talent for translating market and technical data into actionable sales strategies. This skill has helped boost the Star brands in both sales and profitability.”
