Cicis Gets New Parent

Cicis, the Texas-based pizza buffet concept, has been acquired by Arlon Group, a food and agriculture investment firm, in partnership with Cicis’ management team; CEO Darin Harris, will continue to guide the business.

Since its founding in 1985, Cicis has grown to more than 440 restaurants in 33 states; only 41 stores are company-owned. Last November, the suburban Dallas chain dropped the word “pizza” from its name and the apostrophe from Cicis and unveiled a contemporary look it plans to roll out to all of its restaurants over the next few years.

Arlon Group has approximately $1 billion in assets under management and is headquartered in New York with an office in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
