Foodservice Equipment Reports


U.S. Foodservice has a new CEO and expansion plans in the works. The Rosemont, Ill., food distributor has tapped John Lederer, formerly of Duane Reade, to serve as president and CEO. The company also has begun work on expanding its Port Orange, Fla., division’s food distribution center to better support the growth of the company’s central Florida business. Construction on the $33-million project is expected to be completed by July 2011. The expanded facility will include 127,000 sq. ft. of freezer space, 48,000 sq. ft. of refrigerated space, 155,000 sq. ft. of dry storage space, and 51 loading docks.
